This Victoria University of Wellington-led project supported by researchers from the Measurement and Standards Laboratory (MSL) and the University of Otago that seeks to explore the dynamics of quasiparticles known as exciton-polaritons, which are formed from the strong coupling between excitons (electron-hole pairs) and photons within semiconductor optical microcavities. Their strong nonlinearities and the potential for intensity squeezing and Rabi oscillations position them as promising candidates for simulating quantum logic and operations. This project will develop new optical techniques to measure the dynamics of exciton-polaritons using ultrafast spectroscopy.
