Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Enterprise), University of Otago
Professor Richard Blaikie is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Enterprise, and Professor in Physics, at the University of Otago. He received a B.Sc. (Hons) degree from the University of Otago, and Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Cambridge. For one year, he was a visiting scientist at the Hitachi Cambridge Laboratory. He returned to New Zealand in 1993, taking up a position in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Canterbury prior to moving to his current role at Otago. As Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Blaikie oversees all the research and commercialisation activities of the University.
