Community Engagement

As our research leads the way in resolving increasingly complex problems and questions, our outstanding engagement programme future-proofs our knowledge economy, our industries, and our society.

Schools, Museums, and Community

Through a one-of-a-kind programme of face-to-face community engagement, we deliver hands-on activities in a variety of formats showcasing our research, as well as that of our partners, to engage not only the next generation of curious minds, but their friends, whānau, and wider community with the opportunities that are unlocked through photonic and quantum technologies.

Much of what we do is based in and around school-aged learners. However, by partnering with Museums across the country, we are also able to bring interactive science showcases to some of the most remote corners of Aotearoa. We love being invited to participate in community events, bringing hands-on science to unexpected places – libraries, A&P shows, cultural festivals, art installations and more!
